Hybrid athlete — Overview
My passion for sport stems from overcoming challenges and learning that food is fuel, strength is empowering, and resilience is built through both physical and mental challenges.

1. Through strength training, I learned that our bodies are not something to be feared or controlled, but are designed to be nourished, to adapt, and to grow stronger. It provides a means to build muscle, support metabolism, enhance bone density, and protect joint health.
2. Through endurance training, I learned that our bodies and minds are able to push beyond perceived limits or sustain effort when faced with challenges. It provides a means to build mental resilience, support cardiovascular fitness, enhance oxygen utilisation, and delay fatigue.
Across both, I came to understand that we are not trapped in our bodies. Rather, our bodies are meant to be used, nourished, challenged, and strengthened, allowing us to grow stronger, build resilience, improve performance, and discover how to navigate difficult emotions, challenging periods, and life’s greatest obstacles.
Sport is a powerful factor that influences physical health, mental state, and personal resilience. Despite its importance, maintaining a sustainable balance between training, nutrition, and rest is not always straightforward and therefore requires a positive attitude towards both sport and food to support long-term health, performance, and overall well-being.
To address this, I share how movement, nutrition, and understanding human physiology help me overcome anorexia nervosa, exercise addiction, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), using both strength and endurance training as therapeutic tools.

Food is fuel, strength is empowering, and resilience is built through both physical and mental challenges.
Strength builds confidence.
Endurance teaches perseverance.
Hybrid training is where strength, endurance, and resilience come together.
